Here at One Call, we love giving back to local charities and causes – and so do our customers! Throughout 2022, many of our customers utilised our ‘Round to a Pound’ option when making payments for their insurance and, in doing so, helped us to raise an impressive £1,200.84 for The Radford Foundation.
Our ‘Round to a Pound’ initiative gives our customers the option to round their payments up to the nearest pound and the difference will be donated to charity. As a result of these efforts, our wonderful customers have raised £1,200.84.
What’s more, John Radford, founder of The Radford Foundation and Chairman at One Call Insurance, has pledged to match the amount, bringing the total funds raised to £2,401.68!
The Radford Foundation, which began in June 2013, will be using the funds to help build an outdoor play facility for a local school in the foundation’s hometown of Mansfield, which is further work towards their aim of creating a safer and stronger community for the people of the town.
Not only are outdoor play areas a great way for children to blow off steam and have fun with their friends, they also provide learning opportunities in a safe environment. School facilities such as these allow for physical, social, cognitive and emotional development whilst improving overall health and providing an area for exercise.
Despite a financially challenging year for many across the UK, it really is heart-warming to see that customers are still willing to donate and contribute to fundraising for charities and causes such as these.
Mr Radford said: ‘We’re incredibly grateful to each One Call customer for helping us to support local causes. We know that things haven’t been easy this past year due to the cost-of-living crisis, so any amount donated, no matter how big or small, is deeply appreciated’.
Our ‘Round to a Pound’ initiative will continue in the coming year, as well as plenty more fundraising events that our staff here at the One Call Group are eager to get involved with! We can’t wait to continue supporting more amazing local charities and causes in 2023.
